AN INTERNATIONAL PROJECT FOR PROMOTING THE MOBILITY OF TEACHER TRAINEES: "OKTÁV"

Abstract

This presentation introduces the “OkTáv” project, which is being implemented through a collaboration between six universities in four countries – Hungary, Romania, Serbia, and Slovakia – and aims to support university students enrolled in teacher-training programs in participating in international mobility opportunities and acquiring all relevant knowledge within the framework of a single course. The OkTáv project has set and is pursuing the following objectives: a literature review on international responsibility; the documentation of best practices in the field of international mobility; attitude, opinion, and satisfaction surveys for students and instructors, which can be used as pre- and post-course assessments to prepare participants for international mobility; methodological guidelines for these surveys; a book presenting the theoretical framework of the OkTáv project; a 30-hour university course titled “Global Citizens in Education: Fundamentals of Project Design”; alternative teacher training modules related to international mobility; a specialized teacher-training course; a methodological guide for the teacher-training program titled “Educational Cosmopolitans: International Perspectives in Teacher Training.” This study was supported by the Tempus Public Foundation (2024-1-HU01-KA220-HED-000248326).
